In January, AS Monaco signed Simon Adingra (24) and Wout Faes (28). The former joined on loan from Sunderland, the latter from Leicester City. Buy options were included in both deals. Neither has been triggered, as confirmed by the Principality club on Monday.

Adingra initially impressed for Monaco following his move, however, his form tailed off towards the end of the campaign. He finished the season with three goals and two assists in 14 games in Ligue 1. Faes, meanwhile, was a regular for Les Monégasques. He made 16 appearances in all competitions for the club, following his January move. The Belgian’s buy option stood at €7.5m, whilst Adingra’s switch could have been made permanent for €17m.
Those figures became unrealistic when Monaco missed out on qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League. Next season, they will play in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Monaco thanked the pair on social media as they announced their exits on Monday.
