Colorado Rockies' Jake McCarthy was not concerned about denting the MLB trade deadline stock of San Francisco Giants' Logan Webb.

Named the NL Pitcher of the Week a few hours earlier, Webb entered Friday's matchup at Coors Field with five consecutive strong outings. With the Giants slipping out of playoff contention, Webb's recent surge made him a popular name among acquisition discussions.
Leading the Rockies to a 15-3 victory, McCarthy helped rewrite Webb's recent scouting reports, becoming the first player in MLB history with a leadoff home run, grand slam and stolen base during the same game.
Webb (5-6) surrendered three runs in all of June. Against the Rockies, he surrendered seven earned runs on 11 hits in three innings.
McCarthy, who joined a list of seven players to collect a leadoff home run and grand slam in the same game, went 4-for-5 and drove in six runs. Here is a list of the six other players to accomplish the feat:
Player, Date
- George Springer, Oct. 3, 2021
- Charlie Blackmon, May 31, 2016
- Kenny Lofton, Aug. 20, 2000
- Darrin Jackson, Aug. 25, 1991
- Von Hayes, June 11, 1985
- Bobby Doerr, Aug. 1, 1939
Over his past two starts, McCarthy, whose batting average spiked to .308, compiled three homers and 10 RBI.
