Erling Braut Haaland has proven to be one of the superstars to really capture the global soccer fanbase during this World Cup.

The Norway international is currently the joint-highest scorer in the tournament after taking his tally to seven following a brace on Sunday against Brazil.
However, it is not just Haaland’s ability that is winning him a lot of followers, it is also his personality he is showing away from the pitch.
Haaland has established himself as one of the true characters of this World Cup, with some of his social media posts recording some staggering figures.
After beating Brazil on Sunday, the Manchester City striker posted an image of himself in the locker room, with the simple caption: “Well well well”.
That very post is now outperforming some of the most-liked posts on social media platform X.

Haaland went into the game against Brazil knowing Norway could write their name into history by beating one of the most-established soccer nations.
It was also an opportunity for Haaland to get one over Arsenal and Brazil defender Gabriel Magalhees, having had numerous altercations with him in the Premier League.
Clearly, Haaland came out on top after scoring two goals to send Norway through to the quarter-finals.
His post-match post on X has now generated 2.4m likes and had over 90m impressions, which is even more than the GTA 6 trailer announcement post by Rockstar back in 2023.
Haaland has long-standing beef with Gabriel, which goes to show just how large the world of soccer is outside of the US to see this level of interaction.
Haaland has 12.2m followers on X and 50m on Instagram.
To put that into perspective, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tom Brady only have 15m combined followers on Instagram.
It really is becoming a Haaland takeover this summer.
