NTSIKI MAZWAI ANNOUNCES JOBURG MAYORAL CANDIDATE NEWS

On her X account, Ntsiki Mazwai revealed that she had joined the LAND (Land and National Development) Party,  where she had been named as the official mayoral candidate for the city of Johannesburg.

Like Mazwai, the political party – formed in 2018 by Gcobani Ndzongana – has strong views on radical land reform and black economic empowerment.

Mazwai has no formal political experience and has never been elected to office. She has an MA in Arts and a diploma in marketing. However, over the years, she has been vocal about her views on fighting economic inequality, calls for decolonisation, and the development of a stronger African cultural identity.

Since announcing her new venture into politics, and as Joburg mayoral candidate, Ntsiki Mazwai – a former Moja Love presenter – has also advocated for the LAND Party’s manifesto, which includes:

  • Reclaiming hijacked buildings overrun by illegal immigrants in the city of Joburg.
  • Enforcing labour laws that favour South African citizens
  • Financially supporting young entrepreneurs and creating economic opportunities for local residents
  • Building stronger border security

WHO IS IN THE RUNNING?
