Orlando will host international 2028 Olympic qualifying competitions in the new Olympic sport of flag football, plus beach volleyball, climbing and park skateboarding.

Orlando is one of four cities hosting Olympic Q-Series competitions (from June 8-11, 2028), after Tokyo (May 4-7), Shanghai (May 11-14) and Montreal (June 1-4).

Tokyo will have 3x3 basketball, BMX freestyle, climbing and park and street skateboarding.

Shanghai has 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, BMX freestyle and climbing.

Montreal has flag football, beach volleyball, BMX freestyle and park skateboarding.

The last stop in Orlando will take place one month before the start of the LA Games. It was previously announced that Camping World Stadium, formerly known as the Citrus Bowl, will host competition.

The U.S. will not participate in the Orlando flag football qualifier because it already has guaranteed Olympic spots in the men's and women's tournaments as the host nation.

The Q-Series will determine the last three men's teams and women's teams in the Olympic flag football field of six teams each. The U.S., plus the top two teams outside the U.S. from this August's World Championships will also qualify.

Similarly in beach volleyball, the Q-Series will determine the last three men's teams and three women's teams to complete the 2028 Olympic fields.

In 2024, the Olympic qualifying series debuted with two stops — in Shanghai and Budapest — and four sports — BMX freestyle, breaking, skateboarding, and sport climbing.

Orlando hosted the 2024 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, plus preliminary soccer matches for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics at the Citrus Bowl.
