USA TODAY's Blake Toppmeyer and John Adams recently came together to reveal that Miami and Notre Dame are their frontrunners to make the CFP.
Toppmeyer's first choice to make the playoffs was the Fighting Irish, a selection Adams agreed with: "Good pick. That schedule is tailor-made for playoff qualification."
There's no need to sugarcoat it, Wisconsin simply hasn't been good these past few seasons. Here in 2026, everything could start to change. They've brought in another suitable quarterback, a solid running back, and their defense is as good as it's been in years.
Come Sunday, September 6, nearly 80,000 fans will pack Lambeau Field and look to replicate Wisconsin's historic upset over No. 5 LSU from 10 years ago.
Notre Dame undoubtedly controls their fate to return to the playoffs, but they can't overlook a hungry and rather desperate Luke Fickell, who needs this signature win more than anyone else in the country.
