Kentucky offers another elite 2029 recruit who has an NBA father

Coach Mark Pope reached into the future and made his first offer to a player in the 2029 class, offering Jamal Crawford's son J.J. Crawford last week. Now, the Kentucky Wildcats have offered another player in the 2029 class, and he's also the son of a former NBA player. RJ Evans announced on his Instagram page that he had received an offer from the Wildcats.

Evans is the son of long-time NBA player Reggie Evans, and is a 6'7", 170 lb small forward out of Florida. Most recruiting services haven't ranked the 2029 class yet, but ESPN has him as the No. 3 overall player.
Kentucky joins an already growing list of teams to offer Evans. In-state rival Louisville has offered him as well as schools like Florida State, North Carolina State, and the Iowa Hawkeyes among others. There are sure to be others who join in the race for his services as well.
Obviously, Evans isn't going to be making a decision soon, and offering this early is about building a relationship. He looks like a developing star, and most recently has excelled playing at the Adidas 3SSB championships. If Pope is fortunate, in a few years, he'll be playing in Lexington.
