South edges North in Large Schools high school football all-star game

The South outscored the North 14-0 in the second half and held on for a 24-17 victory in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Large Schools All-Star Game on July 18 at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh.

Vidal Spivey of New Berlin Eisenhower, who led the South with 42 yards rushing on six carries, scored on a 24-yard run and Brady Melum of Sun Prairie East kicked the extra point with 4 seconds remaining in the third quarter to give the South a 24-17 lead.

Joey Passaglia of Middleton was 13-for-22 passing for 102 yards and a touchdown for the South. Jackson BeBow of Burlington and Tyler Deer of Grafton each caught five passes for 38 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown reception for BeBow from Passaglia.

The North was led on the ground by Vinny Inga of Germantown with nine carries for 36 yards.

Bryce Ott of Oshkosh North completed 9-of-16 passes for 103 yards. Tino Massa of River Falls completed 4-of-10 passes for 111 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown reception to Will Svendsen of Rice Lake. Zach Shipman of Eau Claire North led the North with four receptions for 38 yards.

The South had 266 yards of total offense, while the North had 307.

Aziz Ashour of Nicolet led the South with four total tackles. Amillione Johnson of Marquette University had three tackles and an interception.

Brady Stammer of Homestead led the North with five total tackles. Jonathan Ananiadis of Stevens Point had an interception.

Small Schools

North 41, South 0

Carson Roemhild of Boyceville completed 7-of-8 passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns to lead the North to the victory.

Logan Prall of Waupun caught three passes for 32 yards for the North, including touchdown receptions of 6 and 16 yards. One of Prall’s touchdown receptions was from Roemhild and the other was from Brett Paulsen of Kewaunee.

Paulsen also had a 9-yard touchdown run for the North and rushed for 23 yards on two carries. Justin Bergmann of Pepin/Alma led the North in rushing with 39 yards on five carries.

Brady Dosch of Richland Center led the South with 20 yards rushing on four carries.

Gannon Bagstad of Madison Edgewood completed 3-of-8 passes for 45 yards for the South, while Taylor Williams of Lancaster had three receptions for 18 yards.

The North finished with 209 yards of total offense, while the South finished with 55 yards.

Waylon Hargrove of La Crosse Aquinas led the North defense with eight total tackles, including three solo stops and a sack. Daniel Buntin of Wrightstown had four total tackles (three solo), including a sack, and recovered a fumble.

Connor Kilgore of Kewaunee returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter to give the North a 27-0 lead with 53 seconds remaining in the first half.

Jordan Mobry of Columbus led the South with four total tackles.

8-Player

South 22, North 18

Logan Schuh of Sevastopol scored on a 1-yard run and Bryce Schultz of De Soto ran in for the two-point conversion with 6:19 remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the South to the victory July 17 after it trailed 18-6 after three quarters.

Schuh led the South with 35 yards rushing on 10 carries. He also completed 2-of-6 passes for 35 yards and a touchdown, a 15-yard TD connection to Kaden Washa  of Highland in the second quarter. Washa led the South with two receptions for 35 yards.

Cole Schley of Flambeau led the North with 19 carries for 129 yards and a touchdown. Dawson Moulton of McDonell Central added 15 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown.

The North had 308 yards of total offense, while the South finished with 158 yards.

Cullen Jacobus of North Crawford led the South with 15 total tackles, including six solo. Gavin Tamling of North Crawford added nine tackles, including four solo.

Elijah Stepp of McDonell Central led the North with eight total tackles, including three solo.
