Spain won the World Cup on Sunday, but comedian Trevor Noah couldn't stop thinking about the red card and what might have been.
"Amazing. Amazing game. Crazy game. Red card. Good goal. Fantastic. Trivela to a header. It was insane," Noah told USA TODAY after Spain beat Lionel Messi's Argentina 1-0 in extra time Sunday at MetLife Stadium to win its second World Cup.

"But everyone is going to ask what would have happened if Argentina had 11 men on the field. I guess we'll never know."
That qustion will linger.
Enzo Fernandez was sent off late in regulation after picking up a second yellow card for a hard challenge on Spain's Pau Cubarsi. Ferran Torres finally broke through 39 seconds into the second half of extra time, beating Emiliano Martinez to shatter 10-man Argentina's resistance. Lamine Yamal's cross was kept alive by Nico Williams before Torres slammed in the winner.

Spain dominated throughout.
Argentina did not put a shot on target all game and Spain finished with 20 shots. Only Martinez, whose 11 saves were a World Cup final record, kept the match scoreless as long as it was.
The loss stung on multiple levels for Argentina. The team was attempting to become the first repeat champion since Brazil in 1962, and 39-year old legend Lionel Messi appears to have played his final World Cup match.
Noah, at least, seems to think we all got our money's worth.
