Last week, readers weighed in on the best single-game pitching performances from the baseball season. Now it's time for the girls to take center stage.
We've selected 15 of the most impressive single-game softball pitching performances from the 2025-26 season. Now it's up to you to decide which one deserves the top spot.

Tracy's Fell delivers opening-day statement with 13-strikeout complete game
Opening day didn't require a warm-up period for Hayden Fell. The Tracy junior and Long Beach State commit came out firing, throwing a complete game with 13 strikeouts while allowing just three hits and no earned runs in a 5-1 win over Manteca on Feb. 12.
Quintero shuts down Oakdale as Kimball pulls off early-season upset
Nobody knew exactly what Kimball would become, but March 5 provided a pretty good preview. Sophomore pitcher Briana Quintero delivered a five-inning complete-game shutout, striking out six while allowing just four hits in an 11-0 upset victory over Oakdale.
Tokay's Schaede throws 185 pitches, strikes out 20 in gutsy win over Merrill West
Ten innings. 185 pitches. Twenty strikeouts. Brooklyn Schaede left everything in the circle on March 5, leading Tokay past Merrill West 6-5 while allowing just two earned runs in a gutsy complete-game performance.
Ripon Christian's Hoff makes first high school win memorable with 18-strikeout performance
The win column didn't tell the full story of Annabelle Hoff's freshman season. Despite victories being hard to come by, the Ripon Christian pitcher made her first high school win count, striking out 18 in a complete-game performance during a 7-6 victory over Waterford on March 6.
Lathrop's De Costa fans 16, shuts down more than half of Chavez lineup
More than half the batters Maci De Costa faced never put the ball in play. The Lathrop senior struck out 16 of 26 hitters while allowing just three hits and no earned runs in an 8-1 victory over Chavez on March 9, previewing her eventual county-leading strikeout season.
McNair's Baser strikes out 16, allows one hit in complete-game shutout of Franklin
Some days, everything just clicks. For McNair's Kamryn Baser, March 24 was one of them. The freshman threw a complete-game shutout, striking out 16 while allowing just one hit in a 5-0 victory over Franklin.
Schweigerdt's 16-strikeout outing leads Lodi's mercy-rule win over Merrill West
A Division I arm can take over a game quickly. Abigail Schweigerdt showed exactly that against Merrill West on March 24. The Lodi junior and St. John's commit struck out 16 while allowing just two hits and one walk in a six-inning complete-game shutout to lead a 10-0 victory.
Ripon's Martinez nearly untouchable, strikes out 11 of 13 batters faced against Venture Academy
A no-hitter may have been within reach if Angelina Martinez went the distance. Regardless, the Ripon senior was nearly untouchable on March 30, striking out 11 of the 13 batters she faced across four hitless innings in a 12-2, five-inning victory over Venture Academy.
Chavez's Small finally rewarded with 16-strikeout performance against Weston Ranch
The results didn't always show how well Alahnee Small was pitching. After losses in nine of her first 10 high school appearances, the Chavez freshman broke through on April 2 with a 16-strikeout complete game, allowing just one earned run and four hits in an 8-1 victory over Weston Ranch.
Quintero makes history, becomes Kimball's first pitcher to reach 100 strikeouts
Sixteen years of Kimball softball had never seen it done before. Briana Quintero changed that on April 13. The junior tossed a two-hit complete-game shutout with seven strikeouts in a 5-0 victory over St. Mary's, becoming the first pitcher in program history to record 100 strikeouts in a season.
Tracy's Fell flirts with no-hitter, allows one hit against TCAL foe Kimball
Three meetings. Three Tracy wins. Hayden Fell made sure the final one left no doubt. The junior pitcher threw a seven-inning one-hitter with just one walk allowed in a 14-0 victory on May 6, giving Tracy its second shutout of Kimball while handing the Jaguars their fourth and final TCAL loss.

Sixteen strikeouts once. Fifteen once. Thirteen three times. Twelve once. Video game-type strikeout numbers became the standard for Juliet Goodpasture, and that didn't change in the playoffs. Freshmen aren't supposed to make moments like this look easy. Tenley Adams did anyway. The Escalon pitcher struck out 14 while allowing just five hits and one earned run in a complete-game performance as No. 7 Escalon upset No. 2 Calaveras 2-1 in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division V quarterfinals on May 15.
Adams keeps Escalon's Cinderella run alive behind 11-strikeout semifinal performance
Not every dominant performance looks the same. Tenley Adams proved that in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division V semifinals. Despite allowing six runs, the Escalon freshman battled through and struck out 11 to help No. 7 Escalon pull off another upset, defeating No. 3 Sutter 7-6 on May 19.
Adams' no-hitter delivers Escalon's sixth CIF SJS championship over Casa Roble
The moment only got bigger. Tenley Adams only got better. The Escalon freshman capped off the Cougars' playoff run with a 12-strikeout no-hitter against No. 5 Casa Roble on May 23, leading No. 7 Escalon to its third straight upset and sixth CIF Sac-Joaquin Section championship.
