Former USC Trojan receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has been a model of consistency in his time at Detroit. Year after year, he has gotten better with the Lions, and that has put him in the top receiver conversation in the NFL. It is hard to pinpoint which trait is better, his toughness or his versatility as a receiver. Many seem to like both traits equally.
In a recent article, Jeremy Fowler pinpoints how the league views former Trojan receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. Here is his reasoning for St. Brown coming in as the 5th-best receiver in his recent receiver rankings.

"Savvy, knack for getting open, plays faster than his timed speed," an NFL coordinator said. "He's putting continuous stress on you even when you know he's not going vertical. He has a unique way of working with leverage. Strong as hell, can separate at the point and is shifty, plays as if he's being disrespected at all times."
St. Brown has been able to take his game to new heights upon leaving USC because how tough he is matches what he can do as a receiver. Brown is a nightmare for anyone guarding him, but he does not stop there, as he can impact plays without even touching the ball. On the flipside, when he does touch the ball, he makes the defenders feel it. That type of mindset and skill will ensure St. Brown remains a top receiver in the league.
