Aston Villa, Chelsea agree Alejandro Garnacho loan with option — reports
· Yahoo Sports
According to multiple reports, Aston Villa and Chelsea have agreed yet another deal today, this time for Blues disappointment Alejandro Garnacho. So as Morgan Rogers arrives from Villa, Garnacho heads the other way — technically not actually related, but you know…
The Garnacho deal is just a loan but with a conditional buy obligation, which is said to be “easy to reach, almost guaranteed”, as per Fabrizio Romano. In fact, a four-year contract already awaits at the end of this one-year loan, so all signs point to this deal being, in effect, a transfer. (The Athletic report that the condition “a minimum number of appearances across the 2026-27 season”, though they don’t specify the actual number or whether it’s all competitions or Premier League only.)

There’s also no word on how much that obligation may be in terms of a transfer fee, but as of right now, this sounds like a decent bit of business for a player who has utterly disappointed since his arrival from Manchester United last summer and who wasn’t even invited back to training camp under new manager Xabi Alonso.
I guess Villa are hoping that the 22-year-old can rediscover his earlier promise with this new opportunity. Their manager, Unai Emery is said to be a big fan. I guess we’ll see.
