Final group of Patriots reporting to training camp on Friday

A first wave of New England Patriots players already reported to this year’s training camp earlier in the week. Now, the rest of the team’s active roster is set to arrive at Gillette Stadium.

The team’s veterans — i.e. everybody but quarterbacks, rookies and rehabbing vets — are scheduled to check into the Foxborough facility throughout Friday.
Veterans arriving on the eve of training camp is standard procedure in New England and across the league. Like those who already arrived earlier in the week, the players in this final group will also go through a medical checkup and the conditioning test to determine their status for the actual start of on-field work on Saturday.
This also means that there is a chance the Patriots’ physically unable to perform (PUP) and non-football injury (NFI) lists see some more players added later in the day.
At the moment, New England has three players listed. Outside linebacker Harold Landry and tight end C.J. Dippre are on PUP, while running back Terrell Jennings was classified as NFI. Those three, just like any other potential additions on Friday, are eligible to be activated and begin practicing at any point.
Also worth keeping an eye on is cornerback Christian Gonzalez, who is currently in a contract stand-off with the club. He was present at mandatory minicamp in June, however, suggesting that he also will report to camp on time and not move into hold-out territory.
The Patriots will hold their first practice of the summer on Saturday. Gates will open at 9:15 a.m. ET, with the session set to kick off one hour later.
