Natisha Hiedeman To Compete In 2026 WNBA 3-Point Contest

Former Marquette guard and 2019 Big East Player of the Year Natisha Hiedeman will make her debut in the WNBA’s annual 3-Point Contest as a part of WNBA All-Star Weekend.

The 5’8” lefty from Green Bay is a career 37.2% three-point shooter across eight seasons in the WNBA, and she’s hitting 35.2% of her shots this season for the Seattle Storm while firing off a career high 5.8 attempts per game. Through games played on July 20th, Hiedeman was in a tie for seventh in total three-pointers made this season, which is fifth out of the six women who will be shooting at Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Friday night.
Hiedeman’s competition? Listed in order of total three-pointers made this season: Marina Mabrey from Toronto, Rhyne Howard from Atlanta, Janelle Salaun from Golden State, Bridget Carleton from Portland, and Azzi Fudd from Dallas. Fudd is the only one of the six outside the top seven in threes made this year, and she’s still tied for 10th. In terms of attempts, all but Fudd are in the top eight, while the rookie from UConn ranks 16th to this point of the season.

The State Farm WNBA 3-Point Contest participants will compete in a two-round, timed competition with ball
racks positioned at five main shooting locations around the three-point arc. Four of the racks contain four
official WNBA game balls worth one point each and – in a nod to the league’s original orange-and-oatmeal-
colored game ball – one oatmeal-colored “money” ball worth two points. The fifth rack will be a special “all
money ball” rack containing five oatmeal-colored “money” balls with each made basket worth two points; each competitor will choose their preferred spot for the “all money ball” rack to be located from among the five shooting locations.In addition, two ball pedestals will be positioned at deep shot locations for “From the Logo” shots. Each
pedestal will hold one black ball featuring blue and orange stars; shots made with this special “From the Logo” ball are each worth three points. For every shot made from the State Farm logo, the State Farm jingle will sound, and a donation will be made to Girls Who Code Inc.The two players with the highest scores in the First Round will advance to the Championship Round.
See, it’s “from the logo” because of the State Farm sponsorship, I presume you’ve seen the Caitlin Clark ad?
Why is Caitlin Clark not in the 3-Point Contest, you ask? Probably because she’s only shooting 33.3% on triples this season, which raises her career shooting percentage to 33.0%.
