Flick will not make any cuts to Barcelona pre-season squad before England training camp

According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has already decided the core of the squad he wants for the 2026-27 season.

But the German tactician has no intention of sidelining players who are expected to leave while their futures remain unresolved.
Squad planning well underway
With Barcelona back under La Liga’s 1:1 financial rule, a development confirmed by league president Javier Tebas, Flick and Deco have been working closely to shape a squad capable of challenging for the Champions League while maintaining the club’s domestic dominance.
The arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi have already strengthened the attack, providing greater pace, intensity and competition in the forward line.

Barcelona are still pursuing a new centre-forward, continue to monitor the possibility of signing another central defender, and remain hopeful of completing the permanent signing of Joao Cancelo.
Attention will then turn to trimming the squad.
No drastic decisions
Although Flick has a clear idea of which players are not part of his long-term plans, he will not take any drastic action at this stage.
Instead of leaving unwanted players behind, the German coach intends to include all available first-team footballers in the squad that travels to England for the club’s preseason training camp.
With many of Barcelona’s internationals still unavailable following their World Cup commitments, Flick believes it makes sense to keep the group together while transfer negotiations continue.

Barcelona’s expedition to St. George’s Park will depart on Monday, 27 July, where the squad will remain until 3 August as part of the club’s preseason preparations.
The Blaugrana will remain in England for a week, and play two friendlies during the trip, one against Birmingham City and Preston North End each.
Flick is expected to announce the travelling squad on Monday morning, with every available first-team player, including those whose futures remain uncertain, likely to be included.
For now, the Barça manager is prioritising professionalism and preparation over making public statements through team selection, leaving transfer decisions to develop naturally over the coming weeks.
