Juan Soto can't seem to shake the calf issues he's been dealing with this season. The New York Mets star is slated for an MRI today after exiting Friday's 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers with left calf soreness, interim manager Andy Green said postgame.
The five-time All-Star left in the sixth inning after two plate appearances as the designated hitter. Jorge Polanco took his spot and proceeded to strike out twice.

Green admitted he's "concerned" about Soto's calf, which has been bothering him since July 16. Soto has played the outfield sparingly since then in an effort to stay healthy, though he missed the Mets' series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.
“We certainly hoped we were behind it and done talking about this,” Green said of Soto's calf injury, per MLB.com. “I know it’s frustrating for [Soto], frustrating for us.”
It's not the first calf injury for Soto this season. Back in April, the 27-year-old missed over two weeks due to an unrelated right calf strain.
Soto has been excellent when healthy, however, batting .283/.408/.539 with 21 homers across 84 games.
Who will start for Mets if Juan Soto misses time?
Jorge Polanco will likely start for Soto as the DH while A.J. Ewing, Luis Robert Jr. and Carson Benge play the outfield.
