Only Scott Paxson Until Penn State Football

We’re bringing it back to 2005 for our countdown today, profiling former Penn State defensive tackle Scott Paxson.

Paxson is probably best remembered for recovering the fumble on the Tamba Hali sack of Troy Smith in the 2005 Ohio State game, but Paxson was much more than just that play. The 6-foot-4, 292-pound Paxson was a three-year starter for the Nittany Lions from 2003-2005, earning first-team All-B1G honors his senior season putting up 44 tackles, 3 sacks, and 10.5 TFLs.

Despite going undrafted, Paxson had a respectable NFL career. He signed with the Steelers in 2006, staying with the franchise through 2010. He had one more NFL season with the Bengals in 2011 before spending a couple seasons in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes in 2013-2014.
