'He Only Wants Paris' - Liverpool Dealt Blow as Transfer Target Picks PSG

· Yahoo Sports

Liverpool have received bad news, as a recent report indicates that one of their transfer targets has decided to join Paris Saint-Germain, rejecting the opportunity to move to Anfield.

According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, despite interest from the Reds, AS Monaco attacking midfielder Magnus Akliouche wants to join PSG.

The report states that the Reds are willing to offer even more money than PSG to Monaco, but the player’s desire is to join Luis Enrique’s side.

For now, negotiations between PSG and Monaco are continuing, and no agreement has been reached regarding the fee that will be paid to secure the signing of the versatile French player.

According to recent reports from France, PSG have already made three different offers to Monaco, all of which have been rejected, with the Principality club now waiting for a fourth offer from the Parisian side.

Generally, when the situation reaches this point, Paris Saint-Germain have managed to sign the players they want, even when other clubs offer more money or continue pushing the player’s camp.

This happened a couple of years ago when Desire Doue joined PSG despite strong interest from Bayern Munich. Even before that, Hugo Ekitike left Stade de Reims to join the Parc des Princes club despite Newcastle United offering more money to the French club.

Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot even admitted at the time that he sold Ekitike to PSG only because the player told him it was his dream to play in the French capital.

Therefore, given the precedent, Akliouche is most likely to play for Paris Saint-Germain next season. Very bad news for Liverpool.

That said, the Reds appear to have an advantage over Paris Saint-Germain in another transfer pursuit.

This concerns the situation of Bradley Barcola, who, according to reports, has rejected PSG’s latest contract extension offer and is prioritizing a move to the Anfield club if he ends up leaving the two-time reigning UEFA Champions League winners.

According to highly respected journalists Florian Plettenberg and David Ornstein, an agreement between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig for the transfer of Yan Diomande is very close to being completed.

Diomande, 19, was also of interest to Paris Saint-Germain, but it was reported in recent hours that the French club had withdrawn from the race and would instead focus its efforts on extending Barcola’s contract.

However, things now appear to have taken a very complicated turn for the Parisian club, as the 23-year-old French winger rejected that offer.

We will have to wait and see what happens.
