Q: Our mortgage renews in October, and we recently received renewal documents from our lender. When we saw how much higher the rate is, we used our lender's online calculator to see what the new rate will do to our payment. My wife and I have no idea how we’ll come up with the extra money. We're already stretched with two kids in daycare, and I keep picturing us falling behind on other bills just to cover the new amount.
