The Arizona Cardinals are halfway through their second four-day block of practices, and they have started practicing in pads. Part of training camp is watching particular position battles.

Where are key position battles at, and who has the lead?
Running back:
Rookie Jeremiyah Love and free agent addition Tyler Allgeier have both been getting regular first-team reps. It is tough to say who is in the lead right now, but it is Allgeier who usually gets the first reps.
Right guard:
While rookie Chase Bisontis has had a few first-team reps, Isaiah Adams has taken almost all the first-team reps and has been working as a starter all offseason. He is firmly in the lead right now.
Inside linebacker:
Cody Simon and Jack Gibbens have been competing for the starting job next to Mack Wilson. While Gibbens has gotten some work next to Wilson, Simon is still in the lead.
Cornerback:
While Will Johnson mans the No. 1 spot, the No. 2 spot is currently even between Max Melton and Denzel Burke.
Safety:
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson and Andrew Wingard are competing to replace the departed Jalen Thompson. Wingard appears to be in the lead, based on practice reps.
