Is this the last dance for Nebraska volleyball's senior class? Senior Harper Murray spoke with Hurrdat Sports about her offseason, the upcoming year, and what the future holds for her and her teammates.
Murray enters her fourth season after a stellar 2025 campaign. The outside hitter was an AVCA All-America and All-Big Ten First Team honoree for the third straight season. She had a career-best 3.54 kills per set on a career-high .295 hitting percentage.

The NCAA announced new eligibility rules over the offseason that could extend the careers of Nebraska's four seniors. The Division I Cabinet unanimously approved an age-based eligibility model in which an athlete would receive five years of eligibility upon enrollment.
These rule changes could give Murray and fellow seniors Laney Choboy, Andi Jackson and Bergen Reilly another season, if they chose to pursue it. Murray acknowledged that she is aware of the change but is only focusing on this season and will address the issue down the road.
"Andy, Bergen, Laney, and I have all just kind of decided that no matter what happens, we're going to make this our best. Whether it's our senior year or not, we just want to go out and be the best teammates we can be — the best friends, the best players — and no matter what happens, leave on a high note, or stay on a high note. We just want to make our senior year the best year we've had. So we haven't thought too much about it. We just want to make sure we're staying in the moment, because there's no point in looking seven months down the road."
Nebraska enters the season with high expectations. The Big Ten released its preseason poll on Thursday, listing the projected finishing order for all 18 teams in the conference.
Nebraska volleyball stands as the conference's unanimous favorite. The Huskers won their sixth Big Ten title last season with a perfect 20-0 conference record.
Three Huskers were named to the ACVA Player of the Year Watch List. Andi Jackson, Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly were among 30 players on the list.
The Huskers open the season against Florida in the Spikes Under the Lights exhibition semifinal. Nebraska's opening match is set for 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, Aug. 27. Television information has not yet been announced.
Each of the two opening matches will be best-of-three sets. The winner will play the Penn State-SMU winner in the championship match at 9 p.m. CT.
