NCP Holds Symbolic Inauguration Of Bhiwandi's BGP Hospital, Demands Immediate Opening

Bhiwandi: Alleging prolonged administrative delay in commissioning Bhiwandi's newly constructed municipal hospital, leaders and workers of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) on Friday staged a symbolic inauguration of the BGP Hospital urging the Bhiwandi-Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) to make the facility operational without further delay.

NCP Workers Cut Ribbon To Protest Administrative Inaction
The protest was led by Pravin Patil President of the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) Bhiwandi City Unit. During the demonstration, party workers ceremonially cut the ribbon at the hospital entrance, symbolically inaugurating the facility to draw attention to what they termed as the civic administration's failure to open a fully equipped hospital despite its completion several months ago.
Addressing the media Patil said the BGP Hospital has been structurally completed and is equipped with the necessary medical infrastructure, equipment and other essential facilities. He claimed that recruitment of hospital staff has also been completed, yet the hospital continues to remain inaccessible to the public because it has not been formally inaugurated.
NCP Says Citizens Deprived Of Quality Healthcare
"It is unfortunate that a fully prepared public healthcare facility is lying unused while citizens continue to struggle for quality medical services. The delay in operationalising the hospital has deprived thousands of residents of the healthcare they deserve," Patil said.
He further pointed out that after the Indira Gandhi Memorial (IGM) Sub-District Hospital was transferred to the Maharashtra Government, BNCMC no longer has a functional municipal hospital under its Health Department to provide comprehensive medical services to residents.

According to Patil the old BGP dispensary was closed nearly five years ago to pave the way for the construction of a modern municipal hospital at the same site. However, despite the completion of the project, the facility has remained shut, raising questions over the civic administration's priorities.
He also criticised the delay despite the formation of the elected municipal leadership, stating that the appointment of corporators and the election of the Mayor should have expedited the commencement of public services rather than prolonging administrative inaction.
Patil said the symbolic inauguration was intended to highlight the issue and press the municipal administration to act in the larger public interest. He demanded that BNCMC immediately complete the remaining formalities, officially inaugurate the BGP Hospital and throw it open to the public at the earliest.
