NEET UG Counselling 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the notice that the choice filling for Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 has started from 4 PM onwards today, August 7. Candidates appearing for counselling can begin filling in their choice of courses and colleges when the process of choice filling begins.

Visit chinesewhispers.club for more information.

MCC issued the notice on August 7, informing candidates about the revised timing for the Round 1 choice-filling process.

Those candidates who have already registered themselves as per the necessary procedure can now utilise the choice-filling facility to specify the medical and dental colleges and courses of their preference. The choices filled in this phase will be taken into consideration for seat allotment.

It is advised to the candidates to choose the options carefully as the preference of the choices filled is very important in the allotment process.

How to fill choices for NEET UG Counselling Round 1

Candidates can follow these steps to submit their preferred colleges and courses:

Step 1: Go to the official MCC website and log in using the credentials created during NEET UG counselling registration.

Step 2: After successful registration, check the dashboard for the current status of choice filling and choice locking. Candidates should also read any important messages or attention notes displayed on the page.

Step 3: Make sure the registration fee has been paid.

Step 4: Click on ‘Available Choices’ to see the colleges and courses available according to the candidate's eligibility.

Candidates can use filters such as institute type, institute and programme to narrow down the list. MCC also provides an option to print or download the list of available choices.

Step 5: Click on ‘Choice Filling’ on the candidate dashboard. Enter the required password to access the choice-filling activity.

Step 6: Candidates can choose to receive the OTP on their registered mobile number or email ID. Enter the OTP and validate it to proceed.

Step 7: Select the preferred institute and programme and add them to the list of filled choices. Candidates should arrange the options in the order in which they want them considered.

Step 8: Click on ‘Save and Continue’ to save the selected choices without submitting them for locking. Candidates can also choose ‘Save and Go to Home’ to save their choices and return to the dashboard.

Step 9: Use the ‘View Filled Choice(s)’ option to check the entire preference list. Candidates should carefully verify the order of colleges and courses before moving to the locking stage.

Step 10: Once the preference list is final, click on ‘Choice Locking’. Read the instructions, agree to the terms and proceed with locking.

Candidates will have to enter their password and complete OTP verification before the choices are locked.

Step 11: Confirm locking status
After successful locking, candidates should check their dashboard to ensure that the choice-locking status is shown as ‘Locked’.

Step 12: Download the locked choice letter
Candidates can use the ‘Print Locked Choice(s)’ option to view and download their locked choices letter. The document will contain details such as the locking status, date and time, IP information, code and counselling round.
