This year, fans around the world are commemorating over four decades of Whitney’s unparalleled impact on music, entertainment, and culture, making the Barbie Signature Whitney Houston doll a timely tribute to an icon whose influence continues to inspire new generations.

In 2026, Whitney’s legacy continues to be celebrated through honours including The Recording Academy Special Merit Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2026 New Jersey Hall of Fame Capstone Event, which honoured 40 years of Whitney Houston.

The Whitney Houston Barbie Signature Doll captures her unforgettable look from the I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me music video, celebrating the historic success and anniversary of the single hailed as one of the greatest pop songs of all time.

Created in close collaboration with Pat Houston, Executor of The Estate of Whitney E. Houston and President of the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation, alongside partners Primary Wave Music, Pat worked closely with the Barbie design team throughout the creative process, helping shape the doll’s design, from Whitney’s iconic fashion and signature glamour to the thoughtful details celebrating one of her most memorable performances.

The Doll was unveiled on 8 August at The Whitley Atlanta hotel during the 5th Legacy of Love Gala, the annual charity event. Held in celebration of Whitney’s birthday, the event honours her lasting impact on music and culture while raising funds to support youth education.

What inspired Whitney Houston’s Barbie?

Inspired by Whitney Houston’s legacy of empowering others, the Barbie Dream Gap Project will donate to the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation to further its work providing educational opportunities, grants and scholarships for young people.
