The Chicago Cubs secured their 70th win of the MLB season with an 8-6 victory over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday.
The thrilling clash saw many Cubs players step up, especially on the offensive end. But as has often been the case this season, the moment of the game came from Pete Crow-Armstrong.
The outfielder hit an incredible home run in the third inning, a monster hit that left his bat at 111.5 mph. The Cubs were down 3-1 at this point, and this was quite the momentum swing for the team.

There are few things as thrilling in sports as a massive hit right into the stands. The ball traveled 437 feet after it left PCA’s bat, and got fans off their feet.
He’s been a strong contender for the NL MVP award this season, and moments like this might just help him reach those heights. Fans on social media are certainly calling for it.
“That ball needed medical attention after that one. Poor thing never stood a chance,” one fan said. “I was told he was overrated by so many haters. He’s literally the MVP,” another wrote.
A third fan commented, saying, “When Pete Crow-Armstrong catches hold of one, it stays hit!” A fourth added, “Another day, another highlight for the actual MVP.”
“Only agendas can stop PCA from winning MVP this season,” said a fifth fan. “The sound that ball made leaving his bat is going to live rent-free in my mind for weeks,” a different fan claimed.
Crow-Armstrong continues to dominate with his play, and it’s winning over many baseball fans. If the Cubs win the NL Central, it will become very difficult to deny his MVP case.
