The senior quarterback, fresh off a state-best 537 regular-season points in 2025 with White, announced his commitment to play college football at Navy.
Boylston, a 6-1, 195-pound dual-threat quarterback, selected Navy ahead of more than a half-dozen other Division I offers including Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern and Jacksonville State.
As a junior, Boylston completed 114 of 185 passes for 2,091 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions, his second consecutive 2,000-yard season. He also rushed for 712 yards and 12 touchdowns.
His older brother, Kyle Boylston, played both baseball and football at Florida Atlantic and signed this summer with the Seattle Mariners organization. He is currently listed with the Mariners' Rookie-level affiliate in the Arizona Complex League.
Boylston's announcement is far from Jacksonville's only recent football commitment, still speeding ahead as the regular season kickoff nears.

- Beachside wide receiver Brennan Monaco is the latest Barracuda pass-catcher going to college football, committing to East Tennessee State. He caught 44 passes for 474 yards last year and has 97 receptions for 1,118 yards over three seasons at the school.
- Ribault defensive end/tight end Jalen Peters committed to Morgan State. As a junior, he recorded 65 tackles (14 for loss) with 11 sacks, including three sacks against eventual Florida High School Athletic Association state champion Raines.
- Charleston Southern is the destination for Fernandina Beach wide receiver/defensive back Aydin Poe, who announced his commitment to the Bucs. Poe caught 45 passes for 821 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2025, in addition to two interceptions and 79 tackles on defense.
Schedule shift for kickoff classic
Perhaps the third time is the charm for the Nease-White football kickoff classic, which is now scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 at Ponte Vedra's home field.
The game was originally planned for Nease before being relocated to White due to continuing field installation. The schools then announced Aug. 11 that the contest was moving a second time.
In other late schedule tweaks, Trinity Christian picked up a road kickoff classic at Bradenton Manatee on Aug. 14; Joshua Christian and Parker added an Aug. 14 game to their preseason; and the Tocoi Creek-Orange Park game at Hoyt B. Cotney Stadium is now listed for 7 p.m. Aug. 13.
Sharks earn 10 All-State selections
Ten players from state champion Ponte Vedra were among the selections to the Florida State Lacrosse Coaches Association's All-State teams, recognizing the best from the 2026 boys spring season.
Junior midfielder Myles Buckley, senior midfielder JP Dolan, senior FOGO Luke Greco, sophomore attack Hudson Hauseman, junior goaltender Charlie Nolan, senior attack Matthias Schulz, senior defenseman Tate Smith and senior midfielder Baylor Vu are first-team honorees for the Sharks, who won Class 2A for the program's second state championship. Buckley also announced his commitment this week to Sewanee.
On the Class 1A first team, senior defenseman William Barakat, senior FOGO Greer Boree, senior midfielder Sean Doyle, sophomore attack Preston Hager, senior goaltender Will Martell, junior attack Nolan Preston, senior midfielder Ty Teschner and senior long-stick middie Cam Zielinski all earned selections for Region 1-1A champion Bolles.
Senior attack Robert Adams also represented Episcopal on the 1A first team.
Second-team choices in Class 2A are Liam Hladun and Rylan Provenzano (Bartram Trail), Zach Rutherford and Zac White (Creekside), Austin Azotea, Madox Gotham and Carter Schultz (Nease) and Carson Gunnell and Vinny Riccio (Ponte Vedra).
Class 1A's second-teamers include Barrett Brown and Leo Guglielmo (Bolles) and Jude Kobrin, Sam Ogletree, Roman Penland and Tucker Thompson (Episcopal).
Orioles honor Jacksonville's Davis
Trinity Christian assistant coach Storm Davis earned another honor for his baseball career, with his induction into the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame.
The Orioles recognized Davis during a pregame ceremony Aug. 1 along with former slugger Chris Davis and scout Jim Russo.
Storm Davis finished 61-43 with the Orioles from 1982-1986 and again in 1992, recording a 3.63 ERA, 27 complete games and five saves. He helped Baltimore capture the 1983 World Series, earning the win over Cy Young Award winner John Denny in Game 4 at Philadelphia's Veterans Stadium.
Davis pitched 13 major league seasons in all, with a 113-96 record and a second World Series victory in 1989 with the Oakland A's.
He still ranks among the most successful high school pitchers in Jacksonville history, compiling a 42-3 record and an 0.77 ERA over his last three years at University Christian (1977-79) while winning two FHSAA championships.
