Report: European giants have cunning plan in mind to snap up Liverpool stalwart for free

According to reports from Italy, Juventus have put their plans to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker on ice for another year.
The Brazilian was the subject of strong interest from the Serie A giants earlier this summer and was rumoured to have been ‘tempted’ by the possibility of a move to Turin, but he’s remained at Anfield for now and is about to begin his ninth season with the Reds.

The 33-year-old is into the final year of his contract on Merseyside, raising the possibility of an overseas suitor snapping him up on a free transfer if he doesn’t pen new terms before the start of 2027.
Juventus could defer Alisson transfer plans to 2027
A report from Sportmediaset (via Calciomercato) suggests that’s exactly what Juventus are banking on as they seemingly kick the can down the road regarding a move for Alisson.
The Bianconeri are reportedly considering a possible loan swoop for Zion Suzuki, who’s agreed a ‘deal in principle’ to join Paris Saint-Germain from Parma (Fabrizio Romano), and then explore a free transfer for the Liverpool goalkeeper next year instead.

Alisson is still fundamentally important to Liverpool
It’s a cunning plan from the Turin outfit if the component parts were to work in their favour, beginning with whether the Japanese netminder would want to go out on loan after securing his move to PSG, and indeed whether the Champions League holders would facilitate it.
From Liverpool’s end, the thought of losing Alisson on a free next summer is chilling, with the Brazilian still a fundamental presence in the starting XI whenever he’s fit and available.
The 33-year-old has been consistently brilliant for the Reds ever since joining from Roma in 2018, whereas Giorgi Mamardashvili endured a shaky afternoon in the defeat to Monaco on Sunday and, with the greatest of respect, isn’t at the same level as his fellow stopper (to be fair, very few goalkeepers are).
If Alisson continues to excel for Andoni Iraola’s side this season and can avoid the injury problems which have dogged him over the past couple of years, there’s a strong case to be made for handing him one more contract extension if he were happy to extend his stay at Anfield.
Let’s enjoy the Brazil goalkeeper’s brilliance while we still have it at Liverpool. It’s hard to overstate how important a figure he’s been for this club over the past eight years.
