Report – Milan Slap €40m Price Tag on Wantaway Superstar

Milan manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly frozen star winger Rafael Leao out of the squad amid growing exit speculation. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri have slapped a €40 million price tag on their wantaway star.

Rafael Leao has been Milan’s standout performer for years. However, the 27-year-old endured a difficult 2025/26 season under Massimiliano Allegri. Forced to play out of position, he scored just nine goals in 29 Serie A matches as the Rossoneri missed out on Champions League qualification on the final day.

Furthermore, the former Lille forward bid farewell to the San Siro faithful straight after the season finale. Widely expected to leave Milan this summer, Leao’s future has been one of the major talking points these past couple of months. Yet, the Serie A giants have received only one concrete offer from Fenerbahce.

Meanwhile, Leao remains hopeful of continuing his career in the Premier League.

Our take on Milan & Leao

Despite joining Milan’s pre-season squad, Leao has failed to convince Amorim, who’s now eager to cash in on the club’s most prized asset. Therefore, the Rossoneri are reportedly open to giving Galatasaray a slight discount. Still, it will take at least €40m to get the deal over the line.

Time is ticking away, and Milan must settle Leao’s transfer quickly if they’re to sign a decent replacement. Galatasaray would ideally sign the Portugal international on loan with an option to buy. However, there’s little doubt that the Rossoneri will push for a mandatory buyout clause.
