Parbhani district is set to receive investments of more than ₹1,622 crore following the signing of 162 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at the 'Invest in Parbhani 2026' conclave, with the proposed projects expected to generate 15,617 jobs for local residents.

The conclave was organised by the District Industries Centre on August 16.

Minister of State and Guardian Minister Meghana Sakore-Bordikar said construction of the proposed units would begin by Dussehra and the investments would provide a boost to local entrepreneurs.

She said Parbhani would also get a dedicated industry bhavan, where clearances required for setting up industrial units would be routed through a single-window system under the ease-of-doing-business policy.

A Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) will also be established in the district with significant investment. Regular review meetings will be held through the industry bhavan to ensure that projects remain on schedule, she said.

Sakore-Bordikar said Parbhani was geographically well-suited for renewable energy generation and should contribute to Maharashtra's leadership in solar power.

She also stressed the potential for setting up processing units in the district, particularly given its high oilseed production. Unskilled workers would be trained to create a skilled workforce for new processing industries and help add value to local produce for global markets, she said.

Around 80,000 registrations have been recorded in the district under the Chief Minister's Employment Generation Programme.

Among the major investment announcements, entrepreneur Sunil Ghaisasi indicated plans to invest about ₹500 crore in e-commerce, while Dhiren Gilani announced an investment of around ₹1,000 crore in food processing over the next five years. Gilani's proposed investment is expected to create about 10,000 local jobs.

Nitin Ingole of Messrs Palvi Agri announced a ₹75 crore investment in e-commerce, while Nilesh Tribhuvan outlined an investment in goat farming.

Member of Parliament Ramrao Wadkute said investors from other states were keen to invest in Parbhani.

District Collector Sanjaysingh Chavan urged entrepreneurs to move beyond traditional practices and adopt new technology and business models. He highlighted opportunities in agro-processing, warehousing, cold storage and tourism, besides calling for greater participation of women in industry.

“From farm to company, and from company to the world market — that must be Parbhani's goal,” Chavan said.

Sushma Mordhania urged producers to secure geographical indication tags for products from Parbhani, on the lines of Vasmat turmeric, and register on e-marketplaces.

Dr. Milind Kamble, President of the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said an investment-friendly environment was taking shape for industrial growth in Marathwada.

Among those present at the conclave were Assistant Commissioners Sanjay Bhurewal and Amol Bale, Assistant Industries Officer Prabhakar Watane, Bhavana Bordikar and entrepreneurs including Nilesh Tribhuvan, Dhiren Gilani, Sushma Mordhania, Balasaheb Gite and Santosh Eklare. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis conveyed his greetings to the conclave.

Shrikant Manolikar conducted the proceedings, while Anup Shukla proposed the vote of thanks.
