Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton suffers injury setback while rehabbing
· Yahoo Sports
Just when it looked like the New York Yankees were close to getting slugger Giancarlo Stanton back, the five-time All-Star has suffered a setback.
According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, Stanton, who was working his way back from a calf injury already, suffered a strain in his other calf.

The injury occurred while Stanton was running in what was the latest stage of his rehab.
“Boone: Giancarlo Stanton has strained his other calf while running. An obvious setback that puts any return in peril,” Sherman reported.

Boone added that Stanton fell while running and labeled the injury as a moderate grade strain while also noting this could end his season, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com added.
Safe to say, it’s certainly not outlandish to assume Stanton won’t be back after he has already missed several months with his current calf injury.
Stanton last took the field for the Yankees on April 24.
The last thing the Yankees needed

The last thing the Yankees could afford is to lose Stanton for the rest of the season, as their offense desperately needs a boost for the stretch run of the season and into the playoffs.

Now, it looks like that boost isn’t coming, at least not from Stanton, and it may not come from Judge, either.
What’s the latest on Aaron Judge?

“At this point, he’s progressed to the point he’s now moving around a little bit,” Heyman said of Judge. “He can throw, he can do a couple baseball-related things, but I think we’re still a ways away from Judge coming back.”
“I’m not guaranteeing that (Judge is) going to be back (this season),” Heyman added.
Heyman also noted how Judge was believed to be third in the pecking order behind Stanton when it comes to injured Yankees returning.
We can now move Judge up to No. 2.
