Palghar Police Book 2 Men For Allegedly Posing As FDA Officers And Intimidating Liquor Shop Owner

Palghar, August 24, 2026: The Palghar police have booked two men for posing as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials and trying to extort and intimidate a local country liquor shop operator under the guise of conducting a licence inspection.
According to police sources, the duo entered the country liquor establishment in Palghar claiming to be inspecting official permits. During the interaction, they took two cans of an energy drink and attempted to leave without paying.

Impostors Turn Aggressive
When the shop operator and an adjacent hotel owner grew suspicious and demanded to see their official government identification cards, the accused turned aggressive, manhandling and threatening both business owners. However, as local pressure mounted at the spot, the impostors eventually confessed that they were not affiliated with the FDA.
The accused have been identified as Kunal Bhoir and Udayesh Bhoir, both residents of Alonde village in Vikramgad taluka.

Following a complaint filed by the victim, the Palghar Police registered a case against both individuals. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
