Bad News for Liverpool as PSG Winger Moves Away From Reds Transfer
· Yahoo Sports
On his way out of PSG for several weeks now, Ibrahim Mbaye is moving away from Liverpool and getting closer to another club, according to L'Equipe. A club whose name has not yet been leaked.
Left in the stands against Lens and then not called up against Rennes, Ibrahim Mbaye is set to leave PSG before the end of the transfer window, with two years left on his contract. The 18-year-old French-Senegalese winger is seeking more playing time than at PSG, which, for its part, is ready to turn the page with its young winger.

Reported to be in the sights of several English and German clubs since the start of the transfer window, Mbaye appeared to favour Liverpool, with whom a contractual agreement had been announced by RMC Sport before being denied by the Reds, according to the English media. According to L'Equipe, Liverpool initially wanted to negotiate an overall transfer with PSG, including Barcola and Mbaye, but Paris refused, preferring two separate negotiations.
As previously reported, PSG has set the bar at 70 million euros for Mbaye, which cooled Liverpool and other clubs, even though RMC noted last Friday that it was more of a negotiating basis than a final, fixed price. Regardless, the Reds are exploring other options on the wings, in addition to Barcola, including Yankuba Minteh, Brighton's Gambian winger.
In its edition of the day, L'Equipe confirms that Mbaye has moved away from Liverpool in recent days and is getting closer to another club, whose name has not yet been leaked. But the matter is still far from settled since, according to the sports daily, PSG wants to sell its player to the highest bidder, while Mbaye's entourage does not want to sign just anywhere.
It is therefore possible that the club Mbaye has moved closer to is not necessarily the one offering PSG the most money at this stage. RMC also wrote last Friday that no suitor had yet come close to Paris' demands. There are still 8 days left in the transfer window to find a solution, knowing that if he stays in Paris, the Senegalese international would have little chance of playing given the fierce competition in attack this season.
Meanwhile, after scoring a brace in his first appearance in the PSG jersey, Ferran Torres allowed his new team to bring back a point from Rennes on Sunday evening. On a personal level, the Spanish world champion became the third player in PSG history to make his debut with a brace.
