· Yahoo Sports
Mattia Perin has sent an emotional farewell to Juventus after completing his move to Palermo from the club he has played for since 2018.
He joined Juventus from Genoa and continued to prove himself as an important player in Turin, even though he was mostly their second choice at the club.

Perin was always available when called upon, and on most occasions he proved to be a very capable goalkeeper who probably deserved a run as the first choice.
Perin Reflects on Juventus Career
Somehow, the club always signed another number one and kept him as a backup, but last season it became clear that there was not much difference between him and Michele di Gregorio, as Luciano Spalletti alternated between them.
The manager believed Perin deserved more chances than he had been getting at the club, and the goalkeeper showed that he is truly a fine player.
However, the manager wanted a change and opted for both of them to leave, ushering in a new set of goalkeepers. Perin will now continue the season at Palermo.

Emotional Farewell to Juventus
Perin wrote on Instagram:
“There are places you pass through. And then there are places that, as you pass through them, change who you are. Juventus for me was that. Today, looking back, I realize that a part of the man I have become has developed within these years. Because time is not measured in games played, wins, or trophies. But in the people you meet, the waits, the silences, the disappointments you learn to accept, and the times you find the strength within yourself to start over.”
Perin’s departure brings an end to his time at Juventus, where he remained a dependable presence despite spending much of his career as a second choice.
His move to Palermo now allows him to take on a different role and potentially enjoy more regular playing time. After years of serving Juventus whenever needed, the goalkeeper will hope to make the most of this new chapter.
For Juventus, the decision to move on from Perin forms part of a wider change in their goalkeeping options. For Perin, it marks the beginning of a new experience after many years in Turin.
