EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The 2026 Texas high school football season kicked off on Thursday, August 27.

One of the local games on the schedule for Thursday night was a non-district game between the Hanks Knights and Montwood Rams at Excalibur Stadium.
Hanks played its way to a 63-27 win over Montwood.
Hanks, looking to build on a six-win season, opens the year 1-0.
