John Carroll football stays unbeaten with road win at Glades Central

John Carroll Catholic withstood a Glades Central rally before pulling away for a 42-27 victory Thursday night in Belle Glade.
The Rams improved to 2-0 on the young 2026 FHSAA season, while the Raiders fell to 0-2.

John Carroll built a two-possession lead late in the first half, but Glades Central responded with scores on either side of halftime to pull within one possession and briefly shift momentum.
The Rams answered behind senior running back Felix Jackson.
Jackson sparked a pivotal third-quarter drive with a long breakaway run before finishing it himself with a rushing touchdown to restore breathing room. He later delivered the game's biggest play, pulling up on a reverse and connecting with junior Donevon Richardson for a long touchdown pass that helped seal the win.
John Carroll's defense took over down the stretch. The Rams recorded multiple sacks in the fourth quarter and junior Kameron Barber added a late interception as the visitors closed out the victory.
The Rams now turn their attention to a marquee Sept. 4 matchup against defending Class 1A state champion Cardinal Newman (1-0) in Fort Pierce. Glades Central will seek its first win when it visits Palm Beach Gardens on Sept. 4.
