Crazy scene in La Liga 😱

It was the weirdest moment of Saturday. During Real Sociedad-Espanyol (2-1), Basque goalkeeper Álex Remiro got injured in stoppage time and was treated on the pitch before returning to his position, with his team having already used all five substitutions.

The problem: a new rule in La Liga now requires an outfield player to leave the pitch temporarily when a goalkeeper is treated without being substituted, in order to prevent time-wasting. As a result, La Real were down to ten men for a minute.

The situation sent Real coach Pellegrino Matarazzo into a rage, clearly unaware of this new rule. His anger ended with a sending-off after he furiously protested the referee’s decision.

It’s already a nightmare at Tottenham 🥶

Despite a staggering €354 million spent in the transfer window, Tottenham suffered their second defeat in two Premier League matches against Newcastle and now sit bottom of the table.

It is also the first time in 52 years that Tottenham have started a PL season without scoring in their first two matchdays.
