Elk Mound's Kongshaug named L-T Prep Athlete of the Week

Clara Kongshaug is off to a blazing start for the Colfax-Elk Mound girls golf team this season.

The sophomore recently won three events while excelling in her second year on the varsity team. Kongshaug had a superb freshman season that culminated with a fifth place finish at the WIAA state tournament.

She had an outstanding summer playing at the junior level while winning numerous events in Wisconsin. Kongshaug also plays basketball for the Elk Mound High School team that is coached by her father, Jordan.

The Leader-Telegram recently caught up with Kongshaug, the High School Athlete of the Week, to learn a little more about her.

What is your favorite sport besides the one you specialize in?

My favorite sport besides golf is basketball.
