Rob Gronkowski is already expecting big things from A.J. Brown following his trade to the New England Patriots.
The 2026 NFL season gets underway next week with a repeat of the Super Bowl between the Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

It will be the first glimpse of Brown in a Patriots uniform since he bid farewell to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier in the year.
Drake Maye finally has an outright WR1 to target this year and there will be big expectations on Brown to perform given he cost the Patriots a future first-round pick.
Gronkowski knows exactly what it takes to perform in New England and he’s liking what he has seen so far from the 29-year-old.

Brown’s time in Philadelphia did end on somewhat of a sour note, with the wideout demanding a trade to join up with Mike Vrabel.
The trade to New England has seemingly sparked a new lease of life into the receiver ahead of the 2026 season, according to Gronk.
“Adding A.J. Brown was a phenomenal move; they needed that number one guy for Drake May,” he said on the Up & Adams Show.
“Like you just said, A.J. Brown is delighted to be in New England. I feel like he wasn’t truly happy in Philadelphia. Right when he went to New England, his heart was revived, and that’s why he’s so happy. I think he’s going to have his best year ever because of that.
“Drake can put the ball right where A.J. Brown needs it, and A.J. needs the ball to make a play every single time it’s thrown to him.”
Brown’s stats in 2025 did see him almost drop under a 1,000-yard season, with just three yards keeping him above that number.
A fresh start was certainly required and Brown has finally been able to put the noise of the trade behind him following the joint practice with the Eagles.
It is now heads down in New England as they prepare for the trip out west, where they have revenge to execute on the Seahawks following February’s Super Bowl.
