Texas A&M handled business to kick off the 2026 campaign, handling the Missouri State Bears 50-0, marking the program's largest shutout win since 1997.

While the offense had its highlights, the Aggies' defense was absolutely suffocating. The first-team defense allowed just 59 yards on 29 plays, en route to head coach Mike Elko securing his 20th win at the helm. Entering his third season as Texas A&M's head coach, Elko has some stars like linebackers Noah Mikhail and Ray Coney, who led the charge defensively with 13 combined tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.

On the offensive side, the Aggies' youth flashed with running backs KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker combining for 96 yards and a rushing touchdown. Alabama transfer wide receiver Isaiah Horton also had a spectacular first appearance in the Maroon and White, racking up 78 yards and a touchdown on four receptions.
