· Yahoo Sports
Jonathan Kuminga is due for a change. After signing a one-year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the former Golden State lottery pick had the chance to select his jersey number for the 2026-27 season. After wearing both No. 00 and No. 1 during his five seasons with the Golden State Warriors and No. 0 in 16 games with the Atlanta Hawks, Kuminga is opting for a new number in his new city. Kuminga is set to wear No. 24 with the Timberwolves next season.

Kuminga becomes the 12th player in the Timberwolves' history to wear No. 24. TJ Warren was the latest player to wear No. 24 in Minnesota in 2024. Other notable players to wear No. 24 with the Timberwolves include Tom Gugliotta, Bobby Jackson, Antoine Walker and Andre Miller. Gugliotta is the longest-tenured No. 24 in Minnesota, wearing the number for three seasons. During the 1996-97 season, Gugliotta was named an All-Star while wearing No. 24 for the Timberwolves.
The No. 24 has been retired and hanging from the rafters in Golden State since 1988, honoring Hall of Famer, NBA Champion and eight-time All-Star Rick Barry.
