Aaron Rodgers led the Pittsburgh Steelers to an AFC North title in his first year with the franchise last season, before ultimately falling to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round of the AFC playoffs.

Rodgers is back for another season with the Steelers, and although he is insisting that this will be his last, he believes that the team has the right pieces to end the franchise’s 10-year playoff win drought. In fact, the four-time league MVP announced that he believes Pittsburgh can achieve much more than just a playoff win.
“Yeah, of course. Of course. That’s why I came back, because I believe in the guys,” Rodgers said after being asked if he believes the Steelers can be legitimate Super Bowl contenders this year.
“I like the roster as a whole,” Rodgers added. “We have good veteran leadership. It’s just about going out there and doing it. I feel like the AFC is very deep. Even our own division has a number of teams with Super Bowl aspirations, which is great.”
“Delusional”
A large cohort of NFL fans on social media failed to share Rodgers’ vision for this iteration of the Steelers.
“Dude is completely whacked in the head if he believes this,” one fan posted on X.
“Delusional,” someone else put bluntly.
“Karen Rodgers always good for a laugh….HEY FLORIO….want a better story? How many days are going to go by since his wedding before we see a picture of his wife?” someone else posted.
For what it’s worth, we did list Rodgers as a dark horse candidate to lead his team to the Super Bowl this year. He’s already won one Super Bowl with new Steelers coach Mike McCarthy (ironically, against the Steelers). Do you think the future Hall of Famer has a storybook ending in him?
