Lee made the accusation during a recent episode of NBA star Michael Porter Jr.’s ‘Curious Mike’ podcast.
“I always wonder what people’s intentions are. He just went through the process to become a citizen. Maybe he’s trying to kiss up to daddy Trump, because that’s Trump’s thing.
“But as someone who wanted to be recognized as a citizen in the United States, why do you want to be so disrespectfully divisive?” Lee asked.
He added, “When you start attacking the very people you act like you’re an ally to, you’re not aligned with their cause. Why are you not advocating for higher pay?
“Why are you not advocating for better brand deals or promoting the sport now that it is finally getting attention? You’re just being a bully. When did we talk about him before this, after his retirement?”
Porter Jr. and Lee were in agreement over the thought process behind Kanter’s continued attacks on the WNBA and its players.
After all, for someone who wants to improve the WNBA and protect the players from playing against transgender athletes, Kanter’s approach is rather extreme.
