A five-star recruit out of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, Bowman is rated by Rivals as the No. 5 point guard nationally and the No. 11 player overall. The 6-foot-3 guard is the only five-star player in the Class of 2027 to commit thus far.

As a junior, Bowman averaged 22.5 points and 5.0 assists while shooting 34% on 3-pointers in 29 games. On the Nike EYBL Circuit this summer, he scored 20.5 points with 3.6 assists per game.
For UConn head coach Dan Hurley, Bowman is his first commitment for 2027 and the fourth five-star recruit that the two-time national championship coach has procured. Those include Braylon Mullins (2025), Liam McNeeley (2024) and 2025 NBA Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle (2023).
Hurley has also landed two four-star recruits in the class of 2026 with shooting guard Colben Landrew and point guard Junior County.
Bowman’s father, NaVorro Bowman Sr., played seven seasons in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers and then-Oakland Raiders. He was a four-time first-team All-Pro selection and three-time Pro Bowler.
His best season was in 2015 when he totaled 154 tackles (116 solo) with 7 tackles for loss, 1 fumble recovery and 2 passes defended. That was after missing the entire 2014 season with a torn ACL and MCL in his knee.
The 2025-26 national championship runner-up to Michigan, UConn is projected as a top 10 team to begin the 2026-27 campaign with Mullins and Silas Demary Jr. returning. However, Solo Ball will miss the entire season after undergoing surgery on his left wrist.
