Arsenal fend off several European giants to land key star in major coup

Arsenal have made another move for the future after reaching a pre-contract agreement with Georgian forward Andria Bartishvili.
The Gunners have secured the 17-year-old prospect ahead of a move that will see him join the club in July 2027, beating competition from European heavyweights Liverpool and Juventus in the process.

Arsenal officially announced the agreement, welcoming Bartishvili to the club and confirming when the Georgian forward will make the move.
“Welcome to The Arsenal, Andria! We are delighted to announce we’ve reached a pre-contract agreement to sign Georgian forward Andria Bartishvili in July 2027,” Arsenal Academy tweeted on Friday.
The agreement represents another important addition to Arsenal’s academy recruitment, with the club securing Bartishvili’s future despite interest from elsewhere in Europe.
Bartishvili has attracted attention during his development in Georgia and is currently on loan at Iberia 1999, where he has been playing in the country’s top flight.
The teenager is contracted to Kolkheti 1913 and has already made an impression at senior level during his time in the Georgian game.
His spell with Iberia 1999 has also brought an important milestone, with Bartishvili scoring his first senior professional goal against Gagra last May.
Arsenal’s success in securing Bartishvili comes after Liverpool and Juventus were also credited with a serious interest in the youngster.
The two European giants had been monitoring his progress, but Arsenal ultimately won the race for his signature.
Bartishvili has been compared with fellow Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and has been viewed as a versatile attacking prospect.
He can operate as an attacking midfielder or on the wing, giving him flexibility across the attack.
