FC Barcelona have received major news, with UEFA officially confirming that the 2029 Champions League final will be played at the Spotify Camp Nou.

UEFA’s Executive Committee, meeting in Thessaloniki, selected Barcelona’s stadium ahead of Wembley in Lodnon, which had also submitted a bid to host the final.
The match will take place on 2 June 2029, giving Spotify Camp Nou the opportunity to stage the biggest fixture in European club football shortly after the completion of its extensive redevelopment.
Spotify Camp Nou set to become a 105,000-capacity stadium
UEFA has chosen a venue that is expected to be fully transformed by the time the final arrives.
The renovated Spotify Camp Nou is projected to become one of Europe’s leading stadiums, with a capacity of 105,000 spectators and almost 10,000 VIP seats.
If construction continues without significant delays, the third tier of the stadium will be completed by the end of the current season.
Work on the roof will then begin and is expected to take around four and a half months.
The entire redevelopment should be completed during the first months of 2028, leaving the stadium ready to host the Champions League final the following year.
Barcelona’s bid was submitted jointly by the club, Barcelona City Council, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Spanish Football Federation and the Spanish government.
A third Champions League final at Camp Nou
The 2029 final will be the third European Cup or Champions League final to take place at Barcelona’s stadium.
The first came in 1989, when AC Milan produced a dominant display to beat Steaua Bucharest 4-0.
