Falcons make roster changes, sign former Bears RB to practice squad

· Yahoo Sports

The Atlanta Falcons placed defensive tackle Da'Shawn Hand on the injured reserve list and signed tight end Nick Muse to the 53-man roster on Wednesday afternoon. Additionally, the Falcons signed edge rusher Drake Jackson and running back Khalil Herbert to the practice squad.

Hand tore his quad early in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and did not return. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Hand would miss the rest of the season so don't expect to see him in 2026. Muse was elevated last week and now officially joins the roster in time for Week 2.

Jackson was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He recorded 21 tackles (12 solo), six sacks, and one interception in his first two seasons. After missing all of 2024 due to injury, Jackson landed with the Washington Commanders in 2025.

Herbert, a former Chicago Bears sixth-round pick, has rushed for 1,957 and nine touchdowns over five seasons. The Falcons needed another running back after losing Tyler Goodson to the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday.
