On Wednesday, Boston announced that it had signed forward Matt Poitras to a contract extension through the 2026-27 season. Poitras, a second-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, appeared in 69 AHL games with the Providence Bruins last season, totaling 44 points (13 goals, 31 assists). He also played in three games with Boston during the 2025-26 campaign.
In 69 career NHL games, Poitras has recorded 27 points (seven goals, 20 assists).

Poitras and the Bruins reached an agreement on a one-year, two-way contract extension through the 2026-27 season. The extension carries a cap hit of $850,000.
