Mumbai Coastal Road BMW Crash: 3 Killed, 1 Critically Injured Near Lotus Jetty

Mumbai: Three people were killed and one person was injured after a BMW car fell from a bridge on the Mumbai Coastal Road near Lala College and Lotus Jetty in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

According to a police press note, the accident occurred at around 5.03 am on September 20, 2026, when a black BMW bearing registration number DD-01-C-6302 was travelling from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali.

When the car reached the Northbound stretch of the Coastal Road near Lala College and Lotus Jetty, it fell from the side of the Coastal Road bridge into an area where parking work was underway.
Four people were injured in the accident and were rushed to Nair Hospital, Mumbai. However, three of them were declared dead by medical officers at the hospital. One injured person is currently undergoing treatment.

Aditya Jakasaniya (19)
Shanay Gajjar (21)
The injured person has been identified as Aditya Kalpeshwar Oswal (23).
Police probe underway
Officials and a team from the Tardeo Police Station reached the spot following the accident. Police are conducting further inquiries into the circumstances that led to the BMW falling from the Coastal Road bridge.
