Packers RT Zach Bako-Bewele 'could be out a long time' with knee injury

The Green Bay Packers are bracing for right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele to potentially miss the rest of the 2026 season after he suffered a significant knee injury on Sunday against the New York Jets.

During his post-game interview on the Packers Radio Network, coach Matt LaFleur said the injury "could be a season-ender."
A few minutes later in his post-game press conference, LaFleur echoed the concern over Bako-Bewele's injury timeline.
"That doesn't look good," LaFleur said. "I think he could be out a long time."
The Packers will likely do additional testing to confirm the severity of the injury after returning to Green Bay.
Bako-Bewele was injured while pass-blocking on the third play from scrimmage on Sunday. He appeared to be in intense pain following the injury, and trainers put an air cast around his right leg before carting him off the field at MetLife Stadium.
Bako-Bewele was making only his second start since partially tearing his patellar tendon last December in Denver. He had offseason surgery to repair the injury and missed parts of training camp.
After Bako-Bewele went out, the Packers turned to 2025 second-round pick Anthony Belton at right tackle.
Left guard Aaron Banks also left the game with a toe injury and did not return. Backup Donovan Jennings left with a hand injury and did not return. There was no immediate update on either injury from LaFleur.
