Stock Up, Stock Not Up

· Yahoo Sports

Hey, we’re cruising out of Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season so you know what that means: Stock Up, Stock Not Up! Sure, I could have used “down” but I am not a huge fan of 311.

Let’s get into it.

Visit asg-reflektory.pl for more information.

  • Stock up:Caleb Williams (for anyone who went into a coma between Wednesday and Saturday of last week) – dude looked like an MVP-candidate in Week 1.

  • Stock not up: Caleb Williams (for those of who either weren’t in a coma or went into a coma Weds.-Saturday and woke up Sunday morning before 1pm EST) – poor guy got hurt.

  • Stock up: Derrick Henry – the old fella still has it; with over 200 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first two weeks of the season, quick, when was the last time you considered even buying a Derrick Henry card? Exactly.

  • Stock not up: Jayden Daniels – look, if there’s good news for Jayden Daniels… remember when Henry Rowengartner hurt his arm and was able to pitch for the Cubs shortly after he recovered? Daniels can always end up pitching for the Cubs.

  • Stock Up: Bryce Young – I know they had a cakewalk game on Sunday but we all kinda owe him a half apology for calling him short. He’s got 6 touchdowns in the first two games of the season, which is basically Cooper Rush’s QBR this season.

  • Stock not up: Justin Herbert – he has more turnovers than touchdowns in two very, very winnable games for the 0-2 Chargers. He might be the worst player in the history of sports to have TWO cards sell for over $1 million.

  • Stock up: Kevin O’Connell – this may be the last month or two where you can still get a KOC rookie autographed card for under $10

  • Stock not up: Cam Ward – it’s not that he’s been bad, necessarily. It’s mostly that he hasn’t been good. He’s lettuce in a time when we were expecting him to at least be kale.

  • Stock up: Ryan Miller – who? Exactly. Buddy has one target on the season, which resulted in one catch, which resulted in 77 yards, which resulted in a touchdown. The classic 1-1-77-1 stat line after two weeks. Go look up “Ryan Miller (NFL)” cards on eBay and you’ll find anything but Ryan Miller (NFL) cards.

Look, no one is “panic selling” Jayden Daniels or Caleb Williams. They just aren’t “happy buying” them. And maybe that’s OK.

I don’t know what’s going on here with Topps and/or PSA, but this story is wild. Is Topps printing duplicate cards? Or is PSA grading fake ones? Either way, you can file this one under the ol’ “oh, hell no.”

Call me crazy, but I think this looks doubly bad on PSA. IF Topps is printing duplicates and both cards end up being graded at PSA… shouldn’t there be some immediate trigger that informs someone (anyone!!)? PSA should not be grading duplicates. With all the technology we have in this world that literally allows us to do anything – we have cars that drive themselves!!! – how is it that PSA can’t tell that they’ve “accidentally” graded a duplicate?

I am the last person to tell you to “be careful out there” when it comes to stuff like this because I do next to no due diligence when I’m mindlessly buying stuff online. But, please, be careful. Especially if you’re buying big-money cards that are in PSA slabs.

Also, shout out to Etsy artists who are most likely selling these dupes

Paying $50,000 for Topps Definitive Basketball is not smart. Paying anything over maybe like $2,000-$3,000 for that product is equally not smart, in my opinion.

Topps ruined that product when they put the Debut Patches in Chrome Update. Don’t get me wrong, I love that they put the patches in Chrome Update, but in paying that almost $20,000 price upon release and then $50,000 on the secondary market you were never going to hit a card that would get you return on your investment and the biggest chase in that set would never be as highly sought after as the 1/1 Debut Patches that you could find in a different Topps product.

It’s not smart, says the guy who bought geodes and marbles on Whatnot last weekend.

I did catch myself watching almost 30 minutes of a Whatnot stream of some dude auctioning tools. I will say this about the tools guys – there’s something about it that makes you feel productive after just watching them sell things (even if you don’t buy anything). And it’s not just because tools guys don’t yell at their chat (ever). I don’t know what it is, but even just getting more comfortable talking about a Milwaukee “burnt bronze” utility knife and how the color of the knife “dances.”

Catch me in Home Depot talking about “look at that utility knife dance” this week. I absolutely love the non-cards side of Whatnot. It’s way chiller than the cards side is.
